Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been disqualified from the Lok Sabha. This comes due to his conviction in a 2019 criminal defamation case. The Congress party tweeted, “The fight continues.” Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor tweeted, “I’m stunned by this action…” On March 23, a court in Surat, Gujarat sentenced Rahul Gandhi to two years in jail in the ‘Modi surname’ case. Rahul Gandhi was convicted for his statement, “How come all thieves have Modi as the common surname?”
