Moody’s Upgrades Tesla Rating

Moody’s upgraded Tesla’s ($TSLA@US) credit rating from a junk-rated score to Baa3, the lowest level for investment grade. The rating is one level above Ba1, which is the highest level of junk-rated debt. Moody’s analysis of Tesla’s numbers indicates a rating as high as A2, which is five ratings above Ba1. Tesla's limited product offerings, increased competition, and corporate governance challenges were cited as reasons for the gap in the ratings company's report. The electric vehicle giant had a strong 2022, with operating profit margins at about 17 percent and delivered more than 1.3 million vehicles.
