SEA SUPREMACY

A tour of the USS America (LHA 6) shows parts of the design and capability of the warship, the first of the America-class amphibious assault ships and the fourth American warship to bear this name. It docked at Pier 15 in Manila on Sunday, March 19, 2023 and will leave on Thursday, March 23. Officials said the USS America is in Manila for some 'rest and recreation'. The visit comes as the Philippines and US prepare for the biggest 'Balikatan' military exercises that will include live-fire at the disputed South China Sea.
