CCTV footage released by Cumbria Police captured the moment Eleanor Williams bought a hammer from a supermarket, which she later used to injure herself. The 22-year-old made false claims of being beaten, raped, abused and trafficked by an Asian gang, and was sentenced to eight and a half years in jail as a consequence.
