'Pitchfork' reports that Spotify has announced
some major changes in the app's design,
including a new vertical video feed. .

see an endless feed of both audio and video previews
of playlists, albums, podcasts and audiobooks.
Those same previews are now also
built into Spotify's search function.
The new features come after Spotify announced
significant layoffs that saw the company reduce
its global workforce by about six percent.
While speaking at a conference hosted by Morgan Stanley,
Spotify's chief financial officer called the layoffs "a real
positive" and a necessary step for the company to evolve.

Spotify competitor SoundCloud
announced a similar "TikTok-like"
vertical video feed earlier this week.
While serving up a similar feed of music based on listening
history and musical taste, the SoundCloud feed also
includes a line of text explaining how a song was chosen.
