Starbucks’ CEO to Testify Before Senate Committee
  • last year
Starbucks’ ($SBUX@US) CEO Howard Schultz had agreed to testify before a Senate committee, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders said Tuesday. Senator Sanders, who is the chairman of the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, accused the coffee giant of defying federal labor laws in its ongoing battle against baristas seeking to unionize. Senator Sanders claims that Schultz has “done everything possible” to thwart unionization and collective-bargaining efforts. Starbucks baristas are demanding better workplace conditions, higher pay, and improved benefits.
