Notre-Dame de Paris is a 1956 historical/drama film directed by Jean Delannoy, with Anthony Quinn in the role of Quasimodo (the hunchback) and Gina Lollobrigida in that of the gypsy Esmeralda.
Sinopsys: In the year of our Lord 1482 in Paris the beautiful gypsy Esmeralda is arrested by the evil judge Frollo, who he will then release for the love she feels towards her. But the girl does not reciprocate her love for her and falls in love with Febo, the captain of the guards, who arrests Quasimodo, the bell ringer of Notre Dame who had tried to kidnap the gypsy under the order of the judge.
Following a mistake, Esmeralda is forced to marry a man who was about to be killed by the gypsy company to which she belongs. Following other vicissitudes, one night Febo invites Esmeralda to a room and then they go up to their room. Here the judge secretly stabs the captain in the back and the people of the room believe that she was the gypsy. So she is sentenced to be hanged, but Quasimodo rushes to her aid and saves her.
