The $1.2B settled by TD Bank was part of one of the largest fraud cases in U.S. history, which has cost thousands of investors their life savings and retirement money. The billions will be used to reimburse the victims of Allen Stanford, who is now about 10 years into a 110-year prison sentence for masterminding the Ponzi scheme.
