Indiana Five - Stavin Change (1923)

Johnny Sylvester-t

Charles Panelli-tb

Nick Vitalo-cl-as

Harry Ford-p/?

Tony Colucci-banjo

Tom Morton-d.

Don't be fooled by the name. These musicians are not from Indiana. We aren't always hearing five musicians. As for the word "Original," that is just following the example set by the Original Dixieland Jazz Band (and the music is not truly original though it is admirable--other New York musicians were playing in the same manner at this time).

Another name for this ensemble is John Sylvester and His Orchestra (or Johnny Sylvester & His Orchestra). Some Gennett labels give the name as John Sylvester and His Playmates.

These are some of the musicians used at different times, issued under one of the names I mentioned.
