Amazon Employees Express Outrage Over Sudden RTO Policy

  • last year
Amazon ($AMZN@US) employees expressed outrage Tuesday night across the tech giant’s company channels, following CEO Andy Jassey’s mandate that workers be back in the office at least three days a week beginning May 1st. Employees expressed their frustrations on a Slack channel in which they shared concerns about arrangements for child care, caregivers for aging parents, or potentially moving in order to be within commuting distance of the office. Previously, individual managers inside the company were able to determine hybrid work policies for their teams. Jassy had also embraced remote and hybrid work, though he acknowledged that the company’s return-to-office approach could change.
