A nomadic people live in the arid grasslands of Novoland's northern continent. There are only hot-blooded fighters among the men. The ladies there are all just as strong as the males. The Qingyang Empire is theirs. This is the tale of those people's power struggles and the strife between the Qingyang and Eastern Empires.
The king dispatched Prince Lu Guichen to Yanzhen. Lu Guichen didn't return to the northern capital until Yanzhen rose up. His brothers were only interested in their own power struggle for the throne, not this young and ill prince. The frail Lu Guichen, however, gradually grows stronger and develops in the midst of his brothers' power struggle after going through battle and the ups and downs of life.

The king of Qingyang seeks to utilize an alliance with the Tang to accomplish his goals of conquering the regions of the east due to the collapse of the royal house of the East and the creation of various vassal nations. Lu Guichen is consequently delivered as a hostage to the Tang Empire. He encounters Ji Ye, a rogue and unruly warrior, there. As a result of Ji Ye's determination and refusal to give up, the two develop a close bond.
