Football Fans Fawn Over Ex-Barcelona and Chelsea Forward Pedro's 'Ridiculous Finish' for Lazio

Pedro sent social media into a meltdown on Monday night after scoring a stunner against Verona for Lazio in their 1-1 Serie A draw.

The Spanish World Cup winner rolled back the years to show that he has 'still got it' in netting a brilliant strike for his new side, despite now being in the twilight of his career at 35.

The veteran winger has spent the last season and a half in the Italian top-flight after his Chelsea exit at the end of the 2019-20 season.

The Spaniard - who has won almost every major honor available in his glittering career - showed his class in opening the scoring on Monday evening.

Receiving the ball on the edge of the Verona box, Pedro played a neat one-two with Mattia Zacagni, whose return ball was lofted over the top to the Spaniard.

Pedro then appeared to squander the chance after his touch then took the ball behind him to his right.

But not to be deterred, he took another touch to steady himself, and with his back to goal, used his left foot to curl the ball around Verona keeper Lorenzo Montipo and into the top-left corner in emphatic style.

And viewers were quick to take to Twitter to celebrate the finish, with one writing: 'That’s a ridiculous finish.'

Another celebrated the fact Pedro was still capable of magic moments in the latter stages of his career, writing: 'Still got it!'

A third was stunned by the goal and was left in disbelief, stating: 'Still can't believe this goal. A thing of beauty!'

For a fourth viewer, the goal reminded them of why they held the forward in such high esteem, claiming: 'Loved Pedro.'

And for a fifth, the goal highlighted the 35-year-old's class, who said: 'I’ll always love Pedro. Class act.'

Outside of Serie A, he has also been on the scoresheet in the Europa League, with goals against Sturm Graz and Midtjylland, as well as providing another assist in the Coppa Italia.

Lazio is unbeaten in their last seven in all competitions, and is currently in the race for a top-four finish in the Italian top flight, sitting in fourth and only four points away from second-placed Inter.
