Why DIABETICS Should Inspect Their Feet DAILY #woundcare #diabeticfootulcer #footdoctor

Diabetes is a long-term medical disorder that affects how your body uses sugar for energy. It may also affect many body parts, with the foot being one of the most often damaged areas.

The American Diabetes Association estimates that nearly half of all Type 2 diabetes patients have some degree of neuropathy, or nerve damage. Numbness and reduced pain perception are symptoms of neuropathy. This is a reason for diabetics to regularly inspect their feet and schedule foot exams with their foot doctor. By doing this, they may prevent major foot issues that might result in amputation.
