Why do humans have so little when the universe has so much?

The Earth and we humans on it, together are actually the poorest, most neglected and ignored child of mother nature because when we look around ourselves we find our universe is overflowing with over abundance and yet, we humans have so little.
It almost appears as though someone out there made us and then forgot all about us...
