Assamese shawl Gamosa to silk weaving: G20 Delegates get ‘Indian experience’

The G20 delegates on February 4 visited Kamrup district’s Sualkuchi village, the Manchester of India. The delegates interacted with the weavers of Sualkuchi village, which is the center of Assam’s textile production. The delegates who visited a textile weaving factory received a grand welcome with traditional Assamese shawl Gamosa. Delegates were also briefed about the methods of silk weaving. Enthusiast Delegates even tried their hands on the weaving machines and enjoyed traditional Assamese foods.
