Fioravante (Turturro) is a junior florist and friend to Murray (Allen), whose small bookshop is facing closure. To help the business stay solvent, the two men decide to try the world's oldest profession. In a New York full of wealthy older women with active libidos, surely a greying Don Juan could make a few bucks. And so, adopting the names "Virgil Howard" and "Dan Bongo," the duo gets to work.

Die mittellosen Freunde Fioravante und Murray haben eine geniale Geschäftsidee: Murray vermittelt seinen Kumpel an seine Hautärztin Dr. Parker, die zusammen mit ihrer Geliebten Selima einen flotten Dreier ausprobieren möchte - und aus irgendeinem Grund denkt Murray, dass Fiovarante genau der Richtige für dieses pikante Jobangebot sei. Um also ihren Buchladen vor dem finanziellen Ruin zu bewahren, tauchen beide als "Bongo" und "Virgil" in die Welt der Prostitution ab, wobei Murray für die Organisation der Treffen zuständig ist und Fioravante den feurigen Liebhaber gibt. Bald schon können sie sich vor Angeboten kaum noch retten und junge wie ältere Damen bezahlen viel Geld, um die vermeintlich exquisiten Liebeskünste von Fioravante kennenzulernen.
