  • last year
Fifty vehicles were seized and 39 stolen vehicles were recovered by the Humberside Police Roads Crime Team as County Lines gangs, organised crime groups, and car thieves were tackled throughout 2022.
More than £56,000-worth of Class A drugs was uncovered after vehicle searches were conducted by the specialist unit, leading to more than 110 arrests.
The proactive Roads Crime Team uses intel to target criminals and carries out pre-emptive stops on vehicles suspected of being involved in criminality.
Sgt Matt Hemingway said: “This was another good year for my team, as we continued to disrupt criminals using the roads in Hull, the East Riding and across northern Lincolnshire.
“We have also been working closely with colleagues in neighbouring forces to tackle cross-border offences, such as County Lines drug dealing.”
