A violent robber has been jailed after causing the death of a woman whose handbag he stole. Robert Vickers was jailed for nine-and-a-half years on 30 January after he admitted the manslaughter of Ann Preston during a robbery in January 2020.
A motorist was hit with a £500 fine and woke to find bailiffs sent by Birmingham City Council knocking at his door - after a W on his car registration was mistaken for an M. They slapped him with a notice and warned if he didn't pay they'd take his car. Steven says he has since been refunded.
A plant-focused independent fine dining restaurant in Birmingham City Centre is the latest local venue to be included in the Michelin Guide. Located in the Great Western Arcade, Land, opened in 2019. The restaurant joins 19 other eateries from Birmingham and surrounding areas in the guide
