Voluntary assisted dying is now available in South Australia. Patients applying must meet strict personal and clinical criteria while two registered doctors must also approve the request. Liz Habermann has been pushing for the change since her terminally ill 18-year-old son Rhys died in 2017. She hopes the new laws make a difference for those in a similar situation going forward.
