The northern cardinal is a bird in the genus Cardinalis; it is also known colloquially as the redbird, common cardinal, red cardinal, or just cardinal. A female Northern Cardinal, the Queen of the boardwalk, selects a suet nugget for breakfast. After hopping down to the railing, she turns back as if to consider grabbing an additional item, but she decides to stick with the single nugget.
