Elizabeth Lennox was born on March 16, 1894, in Iona, Michigan. Her parents were from Canada. Their names are Lambert E. Lennox and Hester Anna Tyrell Lennox.
Her father was a Methodist clergyman.
As a singer she made her professional debut during World War I and her first recording in 1919.
She was successful on radio and in concert. She retired in the early 1940s.
She made a Victor, Columbia, and Edison recordings, but she was perhaps most heavily promoted as a Brunswick artist.
Some records were made under the name "Louise Terrell"--a variation on her mother's maiden name.
She married George Percival Hughes, an advertising executive, in 1922.
She died on May 3, 1992, in Fairfield, Connecticut.
