PM: We can't 'wave a magic wand' over NHS pay
  • last year
Rishi Sunak has suggested there is no easy fix to the ongoing NHS pay dispute, saying that pleasing unions in the short term at the expense of his plan to cut inflation would be the "worst thing" he could do.

The prime minister said: "Of course it would be lovely to be able to wave a magic wand and just give everyone what they were demanding when it came to pay, but my job as prime minister is to make the right decisions for the country."
