Suzuki GSX-8S - Infinite potential for unlimited fun

  • last year
The stacked LED headlight and sharply cut bodywork create an immediate visual link between the GSX-8S and the V-STROM 800DE, despite the two bikes having very different temperaments. The GSX-8S has an authentic street fighter look, with essential bodywork, which accentuates the aggressive look of the bike. The pointed fairing, the tank and the side cowlings contrast with the minimalist tail and the short exhaust terminal, typical of a bike that is always ready to pounce. The panels leave visible not only the mechanics, but also the frame and the seatpost structure. Both are made with a steel tube trellis and are both light and strong.
For the GSX-8S, the designers have chosen more generous frame sizes than the average for the category. This allows the naked from Hamamatsu to guarantee, on the one hand, adequate habitability for the pilot and any travel companion, of whatever size they are, and, on the other, to ensure fluid and homogeneous behavior on the road, without no compromises on the handling front.
The driving pleasure that the GSX-8S offers is the result of a perfect balance between weight distribution and perfect set-up. The suspension department relies on a massive KYB upside-down fork and a KYB monoshock operated via a progressive linkage from a magnificent aluminum swingarm. At their ends are 17-inch alloy wheels, fitted with tires in the classic 120/70 and 180/55 sizes.
The components of the braking system are also of a high level, with the flagship of the front calipers with four pistons and radial connection acting on a pair of 310 mm floating discs.
Every detail of the GSX-8S. therefore it highlights an extraordinary constructive care and attention to detail from which all the typical quality of a Made in Japan product shines through.
