Fox News reports that on Jan. 19, the USDA updated its organic food label regulations.
This update to the USDA organic regulations strengthens oversight and enforcement of the production, handling, and sale of organic products, USDA, via statement.

to organic regulations" since 1990.

Fox News reports that recently, two farmers in Minnesota were charged with , allegedly selling over $46 million worth of "organic" crops that were actually chemically-treated between 2014 and 2021.
This rule includes more robust traceability and verification practices that would have helped identify and stop this type of fraud earlier, preventing further sale of the fraudulent products and reducing
