Marinated Slow Roasted Onions. Recipe by Always Yummy!

Gourmets call marinated onion baked in oven a real delicacy. Juicy and tender, with a special piquant taste, baked onion will be an unusual and very delicious appetizer or side dish for your family or holiday dinner.

✅ Ingredients:
• 9 big salad onion
• butter – 3 oz /80 g
• water – 1 cup /250 ml
• red wine vinegar – 1 cup /250 ml
• brown sugar – 4 tbsp
• rosemary – 2 tbsp
• salt – 1 tsp
• ground black pepper- 1 tsp
• red chili pepper – ½ tsp

✅ You will need:
• carving board
• deep baking dish
• oven

Preparation:
1. Cut off 1 cm of onions from root side and 2 cm from upper side.
2. Pour the water and vinegar into the baking dish, add the salt, 3 tbsp of sugar, black and red pepper, 3 tbsp of rosemary.
3. Stir until full melting of sugar.
4. Lay the prepared onions into the marinade upper sides down.
5. Put into the fridge for 12 hours.
6. Take the dish with the onions out of the fridge and turn the onions upper sides above. Put a piece of butter on each onion and sprinkle all with 1 tbsp of rosemary.
7. Preheat oven to 350°F /180°C and bake the onion for 40 minutes.
8. Take the baking dish out the oven and sprinkle evenly the onions with 1 tbsp of sugar.
9. Put the dish again into the oven and bake the gold onions for 10 minutes more, serve the dish hot.
