Huzzah! Season two of “The Great” is now streaming on Hulu. If you’re looking for an average period drama, this isn’t it. “The Great” is an anti-historical comedy following the story of how of Catherine The Great overthrew her husband Peter to become Russia’s longest-serving female leader. Of course, Catherine would be nothing without her best friend Marial (Phoebe Fox) and her political advisor Orlo (Sacha Dhawan). Gayety caught up with Fox and Dhawan to discuss the events of season two and what it’s like to work on a show that deviates from other TV dramas. “I think, initially before I stepped into this world, I almost saw this genre as being unrelatable and inaccessible for someone like me,” Dhawan told Gayety. “And I really think Tony has reimagined this whole world and I really respect the fact that he takes aspects of history but also throws certain things out the window as well. It’s really liberating as an actor to be part of that.”
