DH Changemakers 2023 | Shantappa Jademmanavar | Lessons from the neighbourhood policeman

When his family came to the city for work, Shantappa came with them. So, he understands the struggles of migrant labourers. During the second wave of the pandemic, when kids from rich homes were attending their classes behind a camera, children in these impoverished neighbourhoods lost out on their education because such facilities were inaccessible to them.
Shantappa, a Bengaluru Police Sub Inspector, decided to tackle this by using his off time to teach children. Additionally, he has facilitated the construction of a toilet near the bus stand in Goraguntepalya, one of the busiest areas in the city.
