A stray lightning bolt was seen striking a parked truck sending sparks and smoke across a parking lot - and turning its headlights on. CCTV footage from JR Motorsports in Mooresville North Carolina, USA, shows the moment the lightning bolt hits the vehicle in the corner of the lot where employees park The powerful strike sent sparks everywhere in a 10-foot radius of the vehicle followed by a plume of smoke - and even turned on the headlights. Spokesman Mike Campbell said that the area was suffering from storms all morning on January 4. "This was something that no one has ever seen or experienced before in this manner. "It was a pretty surreal experience, with the lightning strike actually illuminating the shop floor." Employees of JR Motorsports were actually preparing for the racing season when the strike occurred. "We had several employees inside the race shop preparing our racecars for the season-opening event in Daytona next month," Campbell added. Despite the shocking nature of the strike, the vehicle was barely damaged and there was no need for the emergency services to be called.
