McCarthy was the first person in the House to be officially nominated to be Speaker of the House, but he's still facing an uphill battle to take the seat. Others who have been nominated for the House Speaker seat are Ohio's Jim Jordan, Hakeem Jeffries of New York, and Andy Biggs from Arizona.
