Filipino boxer Melvin Herusalem going all out on his effort to end the Philippines' world title drought. The 28-year-old Herusalem has arrived in Japan to battle defending WBO World Minimumweight champion Masataka Taniguchi. The Bukidnon-born boxer has a record of 19 wins and two losses, 11 ending via knockout.

The Philippines currently has no world boxing champion.
