Real Madrid Star Vinicius Jr Suffers Alleged Racist Abuse During His Side's Win Against Valladolid

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr appeared to be the target of racist abuse from Valladolid fans in his side's 2-0 LaLiga win on Friday night.

In Real Madrid's first game back since the World Cup, the incident occurred in the 88th minute as Vinicius Jr was replaced by Luka Modric.

A video has emerged showing the Brazilian star exiting the pitch and walking around behind the goal in front of a section of Valladolid supporters.

As he walked past the fans, an object is thrown in Vinicius Jr's direction, and the player responds by booting it back toward the crowd.

The noise from the crowd then picks up, and it seems that monkey chants can be heard in the background of the video as the player continues to walk back around toward the away dugout.

More objects are hurled down from the stands, although none appear to come close to connecting with the 22-year-old.

Vinicius Jr has been the victim of vile racist chants already this season when Madrid faced their city rivals Atletico back in September.

Just days before that clash, Vinicius Jr was told to stop 'acting like a monkey' by football agent Pedro Bravo on Spanish TV after he took exception to the Brazilian's dancing following his goal against Mallorca the previous week.

Bravo subsequently apologized and insisted that he did not mean to offend Vinicius Jr with his comments.

Meanwhile, Vinicius Jr received support from his international team-mate Neymar, who encouraged him to continue dancing.

Ahead of the derby clash, Atletico fans were then heard chanting 'Vinicius is a monkey' while one held up a racist doll in ugly scenes outside the Metropolitano Stadium, while further chants continued during the game.

LaLiga condemned the abuse and vowed to work with the police to catch any perpetrators, but a statement was released in early December announcing that a Spanish prosecutor had found the chants 'did not constitute a crime' as they 'lasted only a few seconds' and happened during an atmosphere of 'maximum rivalry'.

It remains to be seen whether any action will be taken this time against the Valladolid fans that appeared to racially abuse Vinicius Jr on Friday.

On the pitch, Madrid emerged victorious thanks to a late brace from Karim Benzema. The result takes Carlo Ancelotti's men back to the top of La Liga, but Barcelona can regain first place if they beat Espanyol on Saturday afternoon.............
