Former Nationals Leader Barnaby Joyce is calling on the federal government to intervene in an international custody dispute separating a first nations mother and daughter. The two-year-old was flown out of the country on Christmas day, after an Australian court ruled, she must return to her country of birth in Europe under the Hague convention. Experts say the law is increasingly being used against women fleeing domestic violence.
