Orchha (Orchha) is a historic town in the Niwari district of the state of Madhya Pradesh, India.It was founded sometime after 1501 by Rudra Pratap Singh Bundela as the capital of the kingdom of the same name. Orchha is situated on the banks of the Betwa River in the Bundelkhand region. It is 80 km from Tikamgarh and 15 km from Jhansi in the state of Uttar Pradesh, Orchha is also known as Ayodhya of Madhya Pradesh.
