This Cheese Was Named the Best Cheese in the World in 2022

'Delish' reports that the World Cheese Awards took place on Nov. 2, 2022.
The competition was organized by The Guild of Fine Food.
Over 4,000 cheeses were judged at what is often referred to as the "World Cup of Cheese."

More than 250 experts from 38 countries and a "Super Jury of 16 judges" reached a consensus to determine the world's best cheese.
A Le Gruyère AOP surchoix was crowned as the winner.
The cheese was entered by Vorderfultigen, a Swiss cheesemaker, and affineur Gourmino.
According to judge Christian Zuercher, the submission is a “really perfect handcrafted cheese, smooth in your mouth and melting on your tongue."
