Night Train Jimmy Forrest 1952

Forrest’s famous instrumental composition was actually based upon segments of two earlier Duke Ellington recordings: “That’s The Blues, Old Man” and “Happy-Go-Lucky Local.” Buddy Morrow’s big band also released a well-known version of “Night Train” in 1952, and the song was sometimes recorded under the title “All Nite Long.”
