1950 Bewitched Bill Snyder

  • el año pasado
Back in 1941, due to the ASCAP radio ban, this future standard from Rodgers & Hart's new play "Pal Joey" received no broadcast exposure of any kind.....and thus, little attention from the public. However in 1950, this piano treatment by Chicago musician Bill Snyder got the tune noticed in a very big way, helping to send it to the #1 spot on "Your Hit Parade" for five weeks and leading the pack of eight different recorded versions that registered on the Billboard singles charts that spring and summer. The Doris Day, Mel Torme and Gordon Jenkins versions are also included in this 1950 posting.
