किरीट सोमय्या मुक्ता टिळक यांच्या निधनानंतर कुटुंबियांच्या भेटीसाठी पुण्यात आले होते यावेळी त्यांनी गिरीश बापट यांची देखील भेट घेतली. दरम्यान त्याठिकाणी शरद पवार देखील येणार असल्याने समजताच सोमय्या यांनी थांबून पवारांशी भेट घेतली. यावेळी माध्यमांशी बोलताना त्यांनी पवारांच कौतुक केलं आणि त्यांच्यातला एक गुण आत्मसात केल्याचं सांगितलं
