At first, young Sota is less than interested in helping his mother and their neighbors clean up a traditional house to make it ready for its next occupants. Then, he encounters a mysterious young man who relates the history of the building and the community that once surrounded it. That inspires Sota to put his best effort into the cleaning, so that he can help preserve the building's legacy and pass it on to future generations.
