  • last year
[KiniNews] Anwar Ibrahim has passed the motion of confidence tabled in the Dewan Rakyat to confirm his legitimacy as the prime minister leading the current administration.

The confidence vote motion, which was tabled by Deputy Prime Minister Fadillah Yusof earlier, was passed through a voice vote.

After the conclusion of a two-hour-long debate on the motion, newly appointed Dewan Rakyat Speaker Johari Abdul asked parliamentarians in support of the motion to say “setuju”
(agree) and those against it to say “tidak” (do not).

This means Anwar commands a majority in the august House to lead the government formed and further solidifies his legitimacy as the prime minister.
