'TMZ' reports that emergency personnel were called to Cruz's home in Texas on Dec. 6 at around 8 p.m.
Houston PD was responding to a report of a 14-year-old with self-inflicted wounds on their arms.
The injured person was
taken to the hospital for treatment.
The patient's name was not disclosed, but
Cruz and his wife have two daughters,
Catherine, 11, and Caroline, 14.
Cruz's rep issued a statement, saying, "This is a family matter and thankfully their daughter is okay.".
There were no serious injuries. The family requests the media respect their daughter's privacy at this time, Rep for Ted Cruz, via statement.
