(Reporter: ”Adele recently saw you in the crowd at her residency. If she asked you to come back and perform a song, which song would you perform?”) Twain: (sings) ”Oh! We should have had it allll, rolling in the deeeep!' Could I be a backup singer for Adele? Maybe. I couldn't be her, but I could maybe do the backup singing."

4. SOUNDBITE (English) Shania Twain, recording artist:
"You know, I wrote this album during COVID, so it was a time that I just felt like keeping my spirits up and music is my self-help zone. So I wrote a very inspiring, happy, cheerful, energetic album. And, you know, 'Waking up Dreaming' - the song that I including - you know, I'm doing some classics tonight, and I'm including the new song 'Waking Up Dreaming,' which is really just all about let the daydreaming live while you're awake, experience it while you're awake and just get crazy. Every once in a while we just need to be able to let loose and do that. And of course, you know, missing that in COVID. But the whole album, you know, it's called 'Queen of Me.' It's really about ownership, self ownership, not apologizing for expressing your self-expression and enjoying. I am -- I'm an optimist, you know, and I sort of feel like it might seem a little shallow almost today to be an optimist to some people. But I am myself. I'm the queen of me."

STORYLINE:
Here’s a Vegas dream team: Shania Twain and Adele.

Adele recently noticed Twain in the audience at her Vegas residency and praised the 57-year-old country pop star.

If Adele asked her up on-stage next time, Twain says she’s ready to go: “We should have had it allll, rolling in the deeeep!' Could I be a backup singer for Adele? Maybe. I couldn't be her, but I could maybe do the backup singing."

Twain was honored Tuesday (6 DECEMBER) at the People’s Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California – where she was promoting her new album “Queen of Me.”

“I wrote this album during COVID, so it was a time that I just felt like keeping my spirits up and music is my self-help zone. So I wrote a very inspiring, happy, cheerful, energetic album,” Twain said. “it's called 'Queen of Me.' It's really about ownership, self ownership, not apologizing for expressing your self-expression and enjoying. I am -- I'm an optimist, you know, and I sort of feel like it might seem a little shallow almost today to be an optimist to some people. But I am myself. I'm the queen of me."
