NASA'S Orion capsule returns safely:Start of a new era in human space progs?|Oneindia News*Explainer

Yesterday, NASA’s Orion capsule returned to earth after a historic moon mission. It also performed a new landing technique called ‘skip entry’…that is designed to help the spacecraft splash down accurately at the landing site. Orion entered the Earth’s upper atmosphere and used the atmosphere…and its lift… to “skip” back outside the atmosphere… only to re-enter once again. The spacecraft hit the atmosphere at Mach 32, or 25,000 mph…the fastest capsule re-entry since Apollo’s. The Orion’s landing in the Pacific Ocean marked the end of the inaugural Artemis 1 lunar mission exactly 50 years after Apollo’s final moon landing. But why was there so much hype about this mission? This was not the first time any spacecraft had been sent to moon…or to explore it. What was so special about this particular mission? Today, in this video, we break down the exact reasons for this. But before that don’t forget to like, share and subscribe to Oneindia.
