There are rumors that a new studio and Naughty Dog are working together on a prospective Nathan Drake PS5 relaunch. More about Uncharted : https://www.hiijo.com/en/uncharted-drake-s-fortune/news/according-to-reports-the-first-uncharted-is-being-rebooted-for-the-playstation-5-104473.html

The epic adventures of Nathan Drake, a sort of modern Indiana Jones created by one of Sony's flagship studios, Naughty Dog (The Last Of Us), ended with its fourth installment. It's hard to talk about spoilers for a game dating from 2016, but if you haven't finished it, skip it.

At the end of this last stand in the footsteps of the legendary pirate Henry Avery, Nathan and his girlfriend Elena could finally retire from their lives of exploration and danger. Years after the conclusion of this quadrilogy, their only concern had become their young daughter. When asked about this, the developers at Naughty Dog explained that they were done with Uncharted, and were now turning to other licences.

However, the success of the series has already led Sony and the studio to some potential premises for a return of the license. A trilogy had appeared on PlayStation 4, technically upgrading its three installments. The first one was the one that showed its age the most. In parallel, the long-delayed feature film adaptation, with Tom Holland in the lead role and Mark Wahlberg as a sidekick, was a great success. The film grossed $400 million at the box office. These facts corroborate perfectly the words of the site TheLeak, which claims that a reboot of the first Uncharted is in preparation.

The success of the saga on Sony's two previous consoles largely supports this rumour, with Uncharted 4 having sold over 16 million copies worldwide. And as Eurogamer recently pointed out, Naughty Dog made an announcement in October for a co-production project on "a franchise beloved by fans". In short, all the planets seem to be aligned to see a return of Uncharted on PlayStation 5, with the potential still outweighing the narrative issues. It should also be remembered that The Last Of Us, another of the studio's star licences, has undergone a remake and a remaster.
