Lies, Lies, and Bigger Lies (Spoken Poem with Music)

Lyrics:

Lies, Lies, and Bigger Lies

He told me he’d just been back from Japan despite
How I remarked that must’ve been a long flight
I squinted when he told me he felt quite well
That he’d never been there was not a bombshell

The speaker at the conference said I could get rich
All you have to do is find your niche
The people to the front began to swell
They’re stomping on people and sending them to hell

He stood on the stage and told another lie
During the world’s formation I was the gods’ ally
The fervor of the crowd’s mouths fermented
Those who disagreed were to be eternally tormented

I used to lie and concoct the whole world in my brain
I’d link them one by one as if they’re a chain
I convinced someone that I had experience in celluloid
I kept going until everyone’s confidence was destroyed

For my birthday the gang brought me into an empty room
When I walked in it hit me with a boom
They wrapped my body in the shag rug
I guess that’s what I get for being too smug
