LUKA MODRIC and ex-Real Madrid team-mate Casemiro couldn't wait until full-time to show what great pals they still are.

The pair swapped shirts at half time during Croatia’s World Cup quarter-final win against Brazil.

The world-class midfield duo came face-to-face in Friday’s thriller, with a spot in the semis at stake.

Modric and Casemiro played together at Real for the best part of a decade before the latter joined Manchester United last summer.

And they paid the ultimate respect to each other by exchanging jerseys as the half-time whistle blew in Qatar.

Modric and Casemiro shared a laugh as they jokingly tussled with each other while leaving the field.

The pair then stopped in their tracks as they removed their tops before swapping them.

The surprise move showed Modric and Casemiro certainly enjoyed their first half battle against each other, with the half-time score tied at 0-0.

But it was Modric who was smiling at the final whistle as Croatia won an incredible penalty shootout after pegging back Brazil for 1-1 in extra time.

And fans took to social media to have their say on the heartwarming scenes.

One said: “This is the love of football, not the other way around.”

Another declared: “Forever love Madrid.”

One sighed: “’Can both teams win?’ The thought of every Madrista right now.”

Another added: “What a friendship!”
