Baby boy died in 'disgusting squalor', SA Police officer tells inquest

An inquest has heard that South Australia's Department of Child Protection failed to intervene in the days before a baby died in squalor, because one of its regional offices didn't have the capacity to deal with it. The baby, whose identity has been suppressed, was found cold and unresponsive on a fold-out couch where he had been left to sleep.
