  • last year
Health Secretary Steve Barclay says that the risk of diphtheria to the British public is “very low”. There have been rising cases of the disease among asylum seekers who have recently arrived in the UK. A man died on 19th November having contracted the disease at the Manston processing centre in Kent. The Conservative MP says: “We had a targeted action of vaccinations at Manston and so 500 people were vaccinated before they actually left Manston.” Report by Jonesia.
