NASA launches its most powerful rocket ever, Artemis I, from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral in Florida. Onlookers cheered as the 32-storey craft blasted off to the moon on a test run for future flights which NASA hopes will, by the mid-2020s, carry the first woman and person of color to the moon as the company seeks to launch a new era of lunar exploration.
