West Midlands Police have said there will be extra officers on patrol during the World Cup in a bid to tackle anti-social behaviour. The first match of the competition takes place on Sunday - and police will be offering reassurance as fans back out bars across the city.

Historic England has released it's Heritage at Risk Register for 2022 - a summary of the critical health of landmarks - and 19 Birmingham buildings are at risk of being lost this year. These include a former library, stately home and places of worship.

A stretch of busy waterway into Birmingham was closed after a luxury land rover was driven into a canal lock. It was discovered floating on its side in the New Main Line Canal in Tipton. There is currently no explanation as to how it ended up there, but fortunately no injuries have been reported.
