Jharkhand Foundation Day is celebrated to mark the day when the state of Jharkhand was officially formed. Earlier, Jharkhand was part of Bihar. In 2000, Jharkhand was officially formed as the 28th state in India. Therefore, Jharkhand Foundation Day is celebrated on November 15 annually. This day commemorates the day when Bihar Reorganisation Act, 2000 was passed.
